Uruguayan startup metaBIX Biotech announced the closing of a US$1.3 million investment round to accelerate its international expansion and strengthen its presence in key markets such as Brazil.

Round led by regional funds, with participation from existing investors

The investment was led by Dalus Capital and EWA Capital, with participation from existing investors including TheBoard Perú, Angel Hub, AIR Capital, and Danta Fund

This funding comes just months after the company closed a previous US$1 million round in October 2025, reflecting continued support from its investor network.

metaBIX Biotech has developed an environmental biosurveillance platform that can anticipate disease outbreaks in animal production systems and detect contamination risks in the food supply chain.

Its solution combines noninvasive environmental monitoring with predictive analytics powered by artificial intelligence, enabling a shift from a reactive to a preventive approach to health management.

Brazil as a strategic market for 2026

The funds raised will be used primarily for commercial expansion in Brazil, which the company has identified as its priority market for 2026.

metaBIX already works with major producers in the country and is conducting field validations with large-scale agricultural operations.
