Motivia raises US$1.2 million from Alaya Capital and Sancor Seguros Ventures to accelerate preventive healthcare with AI

Motivia is showing that artificial intelligence in healthcare is no longer a promise for the future, but a practical tool with a real impact on people's lives. The Argentine startup combines AI, medical science, and professional support to prevent illness and improve treatment adherence, amid growing challenges facing healthcare systems.

A solution to a structural problem in the healthcare system

Motivia's Motivia proposed solution focuses on one of the healthcare system's main shortcomings: the difficulty of maintaining healthy habits and following treatment plans for chronic conditions such as obesity, diabetes, or hypertension. Its founders argue that many complications do not stem from a lack of diagnosis, but from the difficulty of sustaining preventive behaviors over time.

“Our platform monitors clinical and behavioral data in real time to anticipate health problems”, explained Juan Cruz Forgioni, Motivia's CEO, in an interview with iProUP.

Using artificial intelligence, the system analyzes patterns, detects deviations, and suggests personalized actions to make lasting changes easier.

How Motivia's artificial intelligence works

Motivia operates with its own AI model, trained on scientific evidence and content developed by doctors and specialists. Unlike traditional wellness apps, it does not simply suggest generic routines or diets, but instead designs personalized plans based on each user's profile.

“We are not only looking to help people adopt new habits, but also to strengthen adherence to medical treatments”, the company said.

The platform incorporates gaming mechanics and ongoing monitoring to improve adherence, a key factor in managing chronic diseases, as iProUP.

Investment and backing to scale the model

In August 2025, Motivia closed a pre-seed round of US$1.2 million, led by Alaya Capital and Sancor Seguros Ventures, alongside funds specializing in artificial intelligence and healthtech. The goal is to scale its technology and expand its presence across the region.

One of the startup's most significant milestones was its partnership with Alberto Cormillot, a longstanding authority on nutrition and preventive healthcare in Argentina. His involvement goes beyond symbolism: he contributes content, scientific validation, and a clinical perspective on the platform's programs.

“Technology can be a great ally when it serves evidence and people”, people close to him said when announcing the collaboration, according to iProUP.

This backing strengthened Motivia's credibility with companies, insurers, and healthcare professionals.

Argentina's first healthcare unicorn?

Motivia's growth is part of a global trend: the convergence of healthcare, data, and artificial intelligence. With healthcare systems under strain, technology-based preventive solutions are gaining prominence.

The startup has already been singled out as a candidate to become Argentina's first unicorn in the healthcare sector, thanks to its scalable approach and growing demand for preventive solutions. It now has thousands of active users and continues to sign agreements with companies and organizations.

Artificial intelligence with real-world impact

Beyond the metrics, Motivia's story reflects a paradigm shift: AI is moving from being an abstract tool to becoming an everyday ally in healthcare. With Argentine-developed technology, scientific validation, and medical backing, the company aims to show that intelligent prevention is possible.

If it can scale its model across Latin America, Motivia could mark a turning point in how chronic diseases are managed, bringing technology, medicine, and human support together in a single digital ecosystem.
