Mevo strengthens its growth with a new US$18 million round led by Prosus
Mevo raises US$18 million in a round led by Prosus to expand its digital prescription platform in Brazil and connect the healthcare ecosystem.

Healthtech company Mevo announced a new funding round of US$18 million, consolidating its position as one of Brazil’s leading electronic prescription platforms and reinforcing its commitment to transforming the patient experience in the healthcare system.
A new investment to accelerate the digital healthcare ecosystem
The round was led by Prosus, with participation from existing investors including Matrix, Jefferson River, and Floating Point. This funding follows the US$24 million Series B raised in 2024, reflecting market validation of the company’s technology and value proposition.
The capital will enable Mevo to advance its mission of making electronic prescriptions the gateway to a more connected healthcare experience. Building on this foundation, the company aims to integrate services such as exam scheduling, patient support programs, and online medication purchases.
“Scaling this model creates a solid foundation for ecosystem growth, connecting patients with a broader range of services throughout their medical care,” said Pedro Dias.
The company projects that, in 2026 alone, around 20 million patients will be served through its digital prescriptions.
From paper prescriptions to an integrated healthcare platform

Founded in 2017, Mevo emerged as a solution to a structural problem in Brazil’s healthcare system: more than 150 million people manage nearly one billion handwritten prescriptions each year, creating inefficiencies and limiting the integration of services.
The company currently structures its growth around three main pillars:
- Its core electronic prescription service for healthcare institutions and independent physicians.
- Mevo Shop, a patient-focused platform for scheduling exams and purchasing medication online.
- A vertical focused on the pharmaceutical industry.
Expansion across institutions, physicians, and pharmacies

One of Mevo’s key differentiators is its integration with the healthcare ecosystem. The platform is already present in more than 1,100 medical institutions and seven major insurers, reaching approximately 30% of Brazil’s private healthcare market.
The company has also established itself as the preferred platform at 9 of the country’s 10 top hospitals, according to Newsweek’s 2026 ranking.
Among independent physicians, Mevo has increased its prescriber base fivefold following its acquisition of Receita Digital, strengthening its presence in this market.
Meanwhile, its pharmacy vertical has grown significantly. Through Mevo Shop, the company is now integrated with more than 11 pharmacy chains and around 1,600 points of sale, mainly in southeastern and southern Brazil.
New opportunities with the pharmaceutical industry
The vertical serving the pharmaceutical industry, launched in late 2024, has also become a growth driver. The solution connects laboratories with physicians through safe medical education initiatives, while enabling patients to access discounts and support programs.
This segment currently has 20 recurring enterprise clients and more than a dozen projects under negotiation.

Investors’ confidence in Mevo’s growth
For Prosus, the investment reflects the potential of Brazil’s healthcare sector.
“The country has demonstrated strong adoption of digital platforms in sectors such as fintech, mobility, and delivery, and we believe healthcare is the next major frontier. Mevo is at the center of this change,” said Henrique Iwamoto.
TJ Parker, in turn, highlighted the company’s progress:
“It has been inspiring to see Mevo’s growth since our first investment. Its ability to execute and its market leadership make this new investment a natural decision.”
