Laureate Education launches Menthera, an AI-powered learning platform to develop talent
Laureate Education launches Menthera, an AI-powered corporate learning platform that diagnoses skills gaps, designs personalized learning paths, and measures business impact

After 25 years of making an impact in education, Laureate Education reaffirms its commitment to innovation and talent development with the launch of Menthera, a new learning platform for employees powered by artificial intelligence. Developed alongside consulting firm Genia — founded by Sebastián Tonda, author of the book Irremplazables and an AI specialist — Menthera incorporates the capabilities of intelligent assistants Cody and “virtual humans” from Eugenia to create personalized training experiences aligned with business strategies. The initiative is sponsored and led by Alejandro González.
Adapting to the New Talent Ecosystem
As organizations accelerate their upskilling and reskilling efforts to keep pace with the rapid transformation of skills—with an estimated 39 % of key competencies set to change before 2030—Menthera is positioned as a timely solution for closing those gaps. Learning & Development teams now play a strategic role at the executive level, prioritizing career development and AI-related skills while integrating individual and business growth.
Globally, adult education policies are promoting micro-credentials and flexible learning pathways that respond to labor market demands. At the same time, the use of artificial intelligence in education is advancing under frameworks designed to ensure its responsible and timely application in learning. Menthera is built within this context, bringing these trends to the corporate sector in Mexico and Peru.
Menthera’s Distinctive Advantages
- AI-Powered Skills Needs Assessment (DNC): Identifies skills gaps by role and seniority level, prioritizes key objectives, and generates personalized learning paths.
- Personalized Plan Design: Combines in-house and strategic partner content with micro-credentials and ongoing assessments to ensure progress.
- Intelligent Assistants in the User Experience: Cody and Eugenia support employees throughout their workday, offering real-time feedback, reminders, gamified challenges, and active progress tracking.
- Measuring Business Impact: Translates learning outcomes into organizational KPIs such as productivity, tool adoption, and employee satisfaction (NPS).
“Menthera doesn’t just change what we learn, but how we learn: we start with the business goal, diagnose the missing competencies, and activate personalized pathways with intelligent support every day,” says Alejandro González, leader of the initiative at Laureate Education.
