Kira raises US$6.7M in seed round to democratize access to AI-powered fintech products.
Kira raises US$6.7M in seed round to expand its AI- and stablecoin-powered fintech infrastructure across LatAm, starting in Colombia.

Mexico City, 20 August 2025.
Kira, the global payments infrastructure platform, announced the close of a 6.7 million seed round led by Blockchange Venture Capital with participation from Stellar Development Foundation, Vamos Ventures, Grit Ventures , Michael Seibel and Oso Trava, an entrepreneur and investor known for his CRACKS podcast. The announcement comes just one month after the company disclosed a previous round of 2 million and debuted with 3 million in revenue.
The funding will allow Kira to accelerate its expansion in the region, with an initial focus on Colombia, where it is implementing automated compliance processes tailored to local regulations. In addition, the capital will go toward strengthening its technical team in Mexico, Colombia, and Miami, and developing new financial products.
Infrastructure for the Next Generation of Fintech
Kira was founded by Edrizio De La Cruz (former founder of Arcus, acquired by Mastercard), Beto Díaz (payments and blockchain specialist), and Camilo Jiménez (fintech expert). For more than a year, they worked in “stealth” on infrastructure that combines stablecoins, artificial intelligence, and enterprise APIs, with the aim of removing the technical and regulatory barriers that currently prevent non-financial companies from launching global fintech products.
Kira’s platform enables any company to offer services such as international payments, payroll, or digital USD accounts through a single API, without needing blockchain expertise or having to undergo lengthy regulatory processes.
“This round will allow us to accelerate the development of the infrastructure Latin America needs to compete in the global digital economy. Our vision is for a company in Mexico City, Bogotá, or Lima to be able to move money as easily and quickly as one in New York or London,” said Edrizio De La Cruz, CEO and co-founder of Kira.
Backing from Strategic Investors
The round was led by Blockchange Venture Capital, a fund specializing in blockchain infrastructure and enterprise fintech.
“Kira is solving one of the most complex problems in global commerce: friction in cross-border payments,” said Ken Seiff, partner at Blockchange Venture Capital. “Edrizio, Beto, and Camilo have the experience, vision, and execution capabilities to lead this transformation. Their prior experience building and selling a fintech gives them a unique advantage in the market.”
The participation of Stellar Development Foundation reinforces Kira’s technical vision by leveraging the “Stellar network” for fast, low-cost payments. Vamos Ventures contributes knowledge of the Latin American market, while Oso Trava brings his experience as an entrepreneur and his reach across the region’s technology ecosystem.
With the new investment, Kira is preparing for a period of accelerated expansion. The company will strengthen its technical team in Mexico, Colombia, and Miami, while moving ahead with its immediate entry into the Colombian market, where it is already implementing automated compliance processes. At the same time, it is developing new products, including yield-bearing business accounts and international credit options.
Its roadmap includes rolling out operations in five Latin American countries over the next 18 months, as well as strengthening its partnerships with regional banks and payment processors to expand its reach.
