Handle raises US$6M from Andreessen Horowitz to launch enterprise AI agents in Mexico
Handle raised US$6M in a seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz to deploy its enterprise AI agents and expand into Mexico.

Handle bets on the agentic era with its expansion into Mexico
Handle, the vertical AI agent platform for enterprise operations, announced the closing of a US$6M seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z).
With this funding, the San Francisco-based company will begin its expansion across North America, starting with Mexico, its first international market.
A Mexican founder behind the new enterprise AI venture
The company was founded by Alfonso de los Ríos, a Mexican entrepreneur, the country’s first Thiel Fellow, and co-founder of logistics unicorn Nowports, valued at more than US$1,100M.
With Handle, de los Ríos aims to solve one of the most persistent problems facing modern businesses: the fragmentation of systems, communication channels, and operational workflows, which leads to inefficiencies and information loss.

From passive software to agents that get work done
Handle is built on a clear premise: companies rely on tools that don’t communicate with one another, such as email, WhatsApp, CRMs, and ERPs, resulting in manual processes, human error, and an increasing operational burden.
“We turn that chaos into AI agents that automate tasks such as quoting, reconciliation, and financial operations, carrying out more than 80 hours of work per week from the very first week,” explained Alfonso de los Ríos.
Unlike traditional automation tools, Handle operates as an operational layer that connects systems and carries out tasks autonomously.
The first vertical: insurance, a highly fragmented industry
Handle has initially focused on insurance brokers, one of the most fragmented sectors in North America.
The results are already making an impact:
- 94% reduction in claims intake time
- 40% faster email responses
- An average of 8 hours saved per week per account executive
“We went from chasing down information to having AI agents handle quotes and claims intake on their own,” said Raúl Villarreal, CEO of Grupo VE.

Mexico: the ideal market for agentic transformation
Handle’s arrival in Mexico comes as tools like WhatsApp and email dominate business communication, but without connected infrastructure.
This makes the country a key market for adopting agentic solutions. Handle is already working with more than 75 brokers in Mexico and companies such as Inter.mx, Genomma Lab, De Acero, and Qualitas.
The backing of a16z and the vision for the future
Andreessen Horowitz’s investment reinforces the bet on AI solutions that directly boost business productivity.
“Alfonso is applying real-world lessons in scaling to solve one of the most universal operational problems in business,” said Gabriel Vasquez, a partner at a16z.
With this round, Handle aims to establish itself as a key platform in enterprise digital transformation, driving a new generation of software that can carry out tasks, not just record them.
“The agentic era is here. We’re building the platform that will replace manual workflows in businesses,” de los Ríos concluded.
