Colombian startup Yuno raises US$45 million to transform global payments with AI

Yuno raised US$45 million to develop an artificial intelligence-powered operating system designed to address one of the biggest challenges in global financial services: connecting the fragmented payments and banking infrastructure businesses use across different markets.

Building infrastructure for global money

Global payments and banking remain highly fragmented, with companies having to operate across thousands of local systems, providers, regulations, and integrations. For years, tackling this complexity meant adding more engineers, integrations, and operational resources, without creating a truly global solution.

Yuno is tackling this problem with artificial intelligence. Its platform is designed to use AI models that can read regulations, monitor providers, and optimize payment routing across different markets, while providing the infrastructure needed to manage money flows globally.

The company describes its platform as an “AI-powered operating system for global payments and financial services”.

From Latin America to more than 190 countries

Yuno got its start in Latin America, a market the company describes as one of the most complex payment environments in the world.

Today, its infrastructure connects more than 1.000 payment methods and more than 460 integrations across more than 190 countries.

The platform is already used by global companies such as McDonald’s, inDrive, GoFundMe, NetEase Games, Whop, Crypto.com, and Rappi, which rely on Yuno to route their payment flows.

Yuno operates above payment providers and does not directly handle the flow of funds. According to the company, its intelligence is designed to serve the customer rather than generate revenue from processing margins.

AI-powered payment management

One of the first applications built on Yuno’s operating system is Payments Concierge, an agent that allows merchants to manage their payments using natural language.

The company sees this tool as a first step toward a broader agent-based model in which AI agents could eventually operate payment infrastructure autonomously.

This approach reflects Yuno’s vision of creating an infrastructure layer to support global payments, banking, and the emerging ecosystem of AI agent-based commerce.

Yuno’s US$45 million funding round

The US$45 million round was led by Javier Perez and Global PayTech Ventures.

The funding was also backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Tiger Global, QuantumLight, Nik Storonsky, Monashees, GrowthX Capital, Further, Rasmal Ventures, Kaszek, and Endeavor Catalyst.

The company thanked its investors, customers, and global team for supporting this new stage of its development.

Yuno now aims to continue building its infrastructure for companies operating in global payments, banking, and AI agent-based commerce.
