Colombian startup Dondo drives e-commerce automation with artificial intelligence
Dondo officially launched its artificial intelligence platform in Colombia to optimize digital catalogs and automate e-commerce processes.

Dondo, the artificial intelligence startup founded in Medellín, announced its official launch in Colombia after consolidating operations with clients in the United States and the United Kingdom. The company aims to strengthen e-commerce with a platform designed to optimize digital catalogs, automate commercial processes, and improve brands’ presence across different sales channels.
A platform validated in international markets
Backed by global investors and having raised close to US$5 million, Dondo is entering the Colombian market with technology that has already been used in international operations and business projects.
According to the company, since its founding the platform has automated more than 7.8 million hours of work, while internally estimated savings exceed US$231 million.
Its offering focuses on applying artificial intelligence to optimize content, images, SEO strategies, translations, and product adaptation for different markets, with the aim of simplifying e-commerce management.
From a marketplace to an artificial intelligence specialist
Dondo’s story began with Dondo Trueques, a bartering marketplace that grew to more than one million active users. During that period, the team identified that many listings had poorly optimized images and descriptions, which affected the performance of digital catalogs.
Following that discovery, in April 2025, Parker Irving, Dondo’s co-founder and CEO, led a strategic shift to turn the company into a platform focused exclusively on artificial intelligence for e-commerce.
As part of this transformation, the marketplace ceased operations and the company began developing intelligent agents specialized in optimizing e-commerce processes.
Today, most of Dondo’s commercial operations are concentrated in international markets, while Colombia remains its main hub for technology talent and regional expansion.
The platform also offers integrations with services such as Shopify, Amazon, Mercado Libre, Tienda Nube, WooCommerce, VTEX, Square, Instagram, and Facebook, among other sales channels.

Artificial intelligence to optimize digital catalogs
Dondo’s solution automates digital catalog management through a system comprising different artificial intelligence models capable of analyzing, improving, and adapting each product to the channel where it will be published.
The platform’s main features include:
Content and search ranking optimization
The tool improves titles, descriptions, and SEO elements to increase product visibility on e-commerce platforms.
Image generation and enhancement
Artificial intelligence can also create and optimize images for commercial listings.
Translation and localization
Content can be translated and culturally adapted to facilitate entry into new markets.
Commercial requirements compliance
The platform checks that listings comply with the policies and rules established by each marketplace.
Catalog analysis
It also evaluates factors such as pricing, brand identity, and the overall quality of digital catalogs.
According to the company, its technology architecture is based on a hybrid system of multiple specialized agents. Each performs specific functions related to SEO, image generation, translation, commercial compliance, and cultural localization, combining advanced language models with proprietary models trained on e-commerce and computer vision data.

Use cases in Colombia and international markets
One of Dondo’s leading clients in Colombia is Mario Hernández, which uses the platform to optimize around 2,000 products listed on marketplaces such as Amazon and Mercado Libre.
As a result of this implementation, the brand improved its category score from 60% to 85% and cut approximately five hours of weekly operational work related to listing management.
The company clarified that the optimization focused on the content, products, and structure of digital catalogs, without affecting website speed.
Internationally, Dondo also worked with a British pet fashion brand, where AI-generated images made it possible to produce 2,500 professional photos in a single day, significantly reducing the time required for this type of process.
Colombia as a strategic growth hub
Dondo’s official launch in Colombia marks a new chapter for the company after validating its business model in international markets.
The startup aims to keep developing autonomous agents capable of managing digital catalogs 24 hours a day without human intervention. It also plans to expand its integrations with new regional and international marketplaces and add tools for generating product videos using artificial intelligence.
With its core team based in Medellín, the company is keeping Colombia as a strategic hub for attracting technology talent and continuing to scale its operations, aiming to become an artificial intelligence layer integrated into the digital catalogs used by companies across different markets.
