Caricaco seeks to invest $100.000 in startups founded by Central Americans in 2024.

Costa Rica, 30 April. - Caricaco is launching its investment process for this 2024, seeking to invest $100 thousand dollars in ten startups founded by Central Americans, as well as provide support in key business areas such as strategy, marketing, and fundraising, among others.
Caricaco is a venture capital investment fund that has provided financing and strategic support to early-stage startups with high growth potential since 2021, connecting them with global investors to drive entrepreneurship in the region.
Startups wishing to apply for investment must meet a series of requirements, including:
- Be Central American
- Be digitally native
- Have an already-launched product (MVP)
- Have scalable business models
- Have multidisciplinary teams with relevant and complementary experience
The investment application process begins with a form on the company’s website. The company then conducts an analysis to determine whether the startup aligns with its investment objectives. Finally, the Investment Committee evaluates the startup’s technical and financial aspects before deciding whether to provide funding.
“Two years ago, we began building our portfolio of Central American founders. Today, we can say that we have companies raising Series A rounds, opening markets in regions outside Central America, and working hard to grow. The quality of a fund depends greatly on its founders, and today we can say that we can add even more value thanks to the ecosystem of great founders we are working with,” said Rodrigo Villalta, investment manager.
