BBVA Spark provides Habi with US$ US$ 40 million to boost housing in Colombia

Habi continues to consolidate its position as one of Latin America's leading proptech companies after announcing a new credit line with BBVA Spark worth US$ US$ 40 million, which will be used to strengthen its operations in Colombia and accelerate the transformation of the region's housing market.

With this transaction, the company brings its recently secured total credit to US$ US$ 100 million, following the announcement of an additional US$ US$ 60 million credit line in Mexico.

A strategic partnership to boost the real estate market

The new transaction deepens the relationship between Habi and BBVA Spark and reflects the financial institution's confidence in the startup's ability to scale technology solutions designed to improve liquidity, transparency, and access to housing in Latin America.

In Colombia, where more than 90% of household savings are tied up in housing, efficiency in the real estate market is a key factor in the financial and wealth-building prospects of millions of people.

Habi has established itself as a strategic player in Colombia's real estate ecosystem thanks to a model based on data and artificial intelligence.

The company has developed advanced tools for:

  • Property valuation
  • Risk analysis
  • Process automation
  • Reducing time to sale
  • Greater access to financing through commercial partners

This has enabled it to offer faster, safer, and more transparent transactions in the sector.

Since its founding, more than 40.000 Colombian families have bought, sold, or financed a home through the platform.

How the new funds will be used

The capital obtained through this credit line will be used to strengthen Habi's presence in Colombia, increase its capacity to invest in residential assets, and continue developing technology that facilitates large-scale real estate transactions.

BBVA Spark highlights the company's impact

Eduardo González, Country Manager for Colombia & Argentina at BBVA Spark, said the firm backs companies that address structural challenges in strategic sectors of the economy.

Habi's real estate database

One of the company's key strategic assets is its real estate data platform, considered one of the most robust in the region.

This system has been strengthened through the completion of more than 66.000 proprietary transactions involving sales and financing, enabling Habi to provide:

  • More accurate valuations
  • Better decision-making
  • Greater operational efficiency
  • Faster processes for users and partners

Habi aims to expand opportunities for millions of families

Sebastián Noguera, Habi's president and cofounder, noted that this financing validates the impact the company is having on the Colombian market.

“This financing from BBVA Spark confirms the impact we are having in Colombia. It allows us to accelerate our ability to support millions of Colombian families as they make the most important financial decision of their lives: buying, selling, or financing their home.”

He also added that by reducing friction in real estate transactions, more families will be able to build wealth and access new opportunities.

Technology and financing to energize the housing market

Beyond its financial component, this transaction reflects a structural transformation of Colombia's real estate market.

In an environment where much of household wealth remains tied up in illiquid assets, the combination of technology, data, and financial solutions is emerging as a key tool for energizing the market and expanding access to housing in Colombia and Latin America.
