Aviva closes $ US$18 million Series A to drive financial inclusion in Mexico
Aviva raised $ US$18 million to expand its network in Mexico, strengthen its technology and broaden its financial offering.

Aviva, the Mexican fintech specializing in financial services for people and small businesses with limited access to traditional banking, announced the close of a US$18 million Series A round. The investment will allow the company to expand its presence in the country, strengthen its technology platform and develop new financial products.
Valor Capital Group leads Series A round
The round was led by Valor Capital Group and included participation from BID Labs, Caravela Capital, Endeavor Forward, as well as existing investors such as Wollef, Ignia, Krealo and Newtopia.
According to the company, the funds will be used to accelerate its growth in the Mexican market.
“The company will use the new capital to expand its presence to 1.000 locations across Mexico, broaden its portfolio of financial products and significantly grow its technology teams,” Aviva said in a statement.
The fintech aims to reach 1.000 locations in Mexico
With this investment, Aviva expects to expand its coverage to 1.000 locations in the country, strengthening its presence in communities with low levels of banking access.
The company offers loans ranging from US$100 to US$1.000, for both individuals and small businesses operating mainly in the informal economy and outside major metropolitan areas.
Applications are submitted via video calls with an automated assistant at physical kiosks installed by the company. Artificial intelligence models then analyze various factors, including applicants’ behavioral and identity signals, to process applications in a matter of minutes.

The largest funding round in Aviva’s history
The Series A is the largest capital raise completed by the fintech since its founding.
To date, Aviva has raised US$34 million in equity and secured more than US$80 million in credit facilities, strengthening its ability to continue expanding its operations.
The announcement also comes amid favorable conditions for the region’s startup ecosystem. According to data from the Latin American Private Equity and Venture Capital Association, Latin American Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (LAVCA), venture capital investment in Latin America grew 33% year over year in the first quarter of 2026, with fintechs leading several of the major rounds announced, including Ualá, Addi, Arq (formerly DolarApp) and Pomelo.
A proposal focused on financial inclusion
Founded in 2022 by Filiberto Castro, David Hernández, Amran Frey and Israel García, former members of the fintech Konfío, Aviva has built an operation focused on serving people who have traditionally had limited access to the financial system.
The company currently operates in more than 300 cities across 23 of Mexico’s 32 states, serving an estimated population of more than 50 million adults who work mainly in the informal economy and rely on cash for their transactions.
According to company data, more than 300.000 people have completed the application process through its kiosks.

Loans for individuals and microbusinesses
Aviva’s current offering includes two financing solutions.
The first consists of working capital loans for microbusinesses. The second is consumer loans integrated into retail stores, where the fintech installs its kiosks so customers can apply for financing directly when making a purchase.
With the new investment, the company expects to expand its product portfolio while strengthening its technology infrastructure and accelerating its expansion into new markets within Mexico.
