500 Global seeks 30 LATAM startups to invest 300K in

Starting a business in Latin America remains extremely challenging, but founders have a new opportunity. Venture capital firm 500 Global is investing 300,000 dollars per startup and offering 12 months of personalized support to companies developing artificial intelligence (AI) solutions with global impact.

Beyond the capital, which is increasing from 80,000 dollars to 300,000 dollars, the value lies in comprehensive support.

“Selected entrepreneurs receive support with technology development, product building, sales, marketing, hiring, organizational culture, and everything needed to lay the foundations for scaling a company sustainably and, at the right time, unlocking exponential growth or profitability,” explains Damaris Mendoza Loera, a partner at 500 Global in Latin America.

Founders will also have access to a Launchpad in Silicon Valley, the global epicenter of technological innovation and birthplace of some of the most disruptive startups, where the fund has operated since 2010.

This space is designed to boost the global reach of 500 Global startups. Its goal is to strengthen strategic connections and inspire its international network of founders to capitalize on unique opportunities, providing them with the tools to achieve global success.

“We’re building bridges between Latin America and Silicon Valley. We want our entrepreneurs to take advantage of the connections, platform, and activities we’ll organize, together with our offices in Palo Alto, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, all designed to connect the region’s talent,” Mendoza explains.

The initiative will remain open on an ongoing basis. So far, the fund has committed 10 investments and aims to make at least 30 additional investments, focusing on startups with a global vision, resilient teams, and high-impact technology. It is aimed at entrepreneurs who understand what it means to build in highly uncertain environments, where the rules can change from one day to the next, and who nevertheless are committed to creating world-class technology.

“We’re looking for teams in Latin America designing scalable, robust solutions with real impact. Startups of all sizes are welcome, provided their market is focused on the region and they have the potential to compete globally,” the 500 Global partner emphasizes.

Over the past 24 months, AI has transformed business models, product cycles, and the pace of scaling. This dynamism requires investment funds to evolve at the same pace as entrepreneurs.

“The ecosystem changes, and we change with it. Entrepreneurs no longer know borders; they’re using cutting-edge technology and need partners who understand that pace. That’s why we redesigned how we operate: direct investment, tailored support, and global access,” Mendoza says.

Entrepreneurs also join the fund’s global network, which includes more than 700 mentors, a community of more than 5,000 founders, and more than 260 active investors in Latin America alone.

The goal is to connect the talent and resilience of Latin American entrepreneurs with the resources, networks, and opportunities the ecosystem offers. If you’d like to learn more, click here.

“We can build world-class technology in Latin America. Our role is to open those bridges and support teams ready to take on that challenge. The next 30 investments are reserved for the best AI projects looking to compete at that level,” Mendoza concludes.
