With the growth in the number of fintech startups in Latin America, we have seen an increase in other types of institutions that support the growth of this industry by providing complementary services to these startups. These services may include API infrastructure, open banking, CVC, and one of the most important: venture debt.
Driven primarily by “buy now, pay later” (BNPL), venture debt has become increasingly important in startup funding rounds, particularly from Series A onward. But what exactly is venture debt?
What is venture debt?
Venture debt is a form of financing that provides working capital to early-stage or growing companies in exchange for a fixed interest rate and a repayment term. Compared with venture capital, venture debt is less risky and offers investors greater security.
With that in mind, here is our directory of venture debt funds for startups in Latin America. We list and share the leading players in the venture debt investment industry for startups in Latin America (LATAM).
You can also download each institution’s contact information in the downloadable file at the top of the directory.
